Did you ever have a dream so vivid, so persuasive, it felt like you’d returned from another world? I had those dreams constantly—from childhood through my teens. Most nights, actually. And while it's no great feat to remember a dream the next morning, to still remember them thirty years later? That’s just annoying.

So I started writing.

Scattered throughout this book are the dreams that haunted me, inspired me, seduced me, and scared the hell out of me—woven together in my best attempt to re-articulate the '80s Noir aesthetic from which all Cyberpunk, as we once knew it, emerged.

This is a deeply personal work. Getting these damned dreams out of my head—and into someone else’s—took me ten years of obsession and self-education into the literary craft. In the process, I ended up writing the kind of book I always wished I could have found, back when all of this first began.
